June 19th - June 26th

This week was pretty busy! We started with exchanges with Newport, and I was with Elder Carlson.

We went and we contacted a bunch of less actives, they where super awesome and super cool! I loved it, we met a lady named Cheryl Parker and she was like "come back! I'm busy now, but you can come for dinner!" Super excited!

Later we went to the Stevens for dinner and we spoke Spanish! Loved it, way good dinner and lots of fun!
We also went and saw Naomi and we shared about trials and we testified a bunch about how we are always being helped.
Wonderful
We have been having good success with the Goforth family and Dale Bickford. We talked about mindsets and how following the commandments brings happiness.

We also contacted a guy named Aaron Rollins, who is a way awesome guy!
He was telling us about his guns he bought his daughters and he came to church! The ward council was super happy we got him and a few others to church!

We also had a guy text us after a referral lesson and was like "hey, I found some LDS stuff recently and I want to meet so you!" So we are super excited to be seeing such miracles.

We also had a talent show and a cake auction at the church. We saw some awesome turn out and some awesome talent. Afterwards we where able to see dale for a few min, and then we went home.

Hard work pays off! Sorry my E Mail sucks this week, we where finding and driving lots.

June 12th - June 19th

This week was pretty awesome! We first had zone Conference ! It was way cool to hear from Elder Snow of the Seventy!

We talked a lot about finding and about the foundation of teaching. It was cool, he asked a few of us at random to give a 5 min talk on faith, I escaped, elder Slaugh didn't haha he had to go do it. We didn't have much time to prepare one, so he winged it, but it was still good. Then these other missionaries where getting close to the time limit and all that jazz and he's like "did you practice?" - "yes! I did" - "well why where you practicing and not outside working"

Mic drop.

It was a pretty awesome conference.
We went back to the deer farm and Hayed. It was way fun! We got to drive the tractors and his trucks and stuff, it was quite the experience. Oh, and I hilled potatoes #Farmer

We also did a awesome event! Well, we helped out, but it was called the "Trek Across Maine" and pretty much, cyclists ride from a ski resort in pretty much New Hampshire all the way to Belfast ME, 181.8 miles! It's like the STP out in Seattle, it was a pretty big deal. We where crazy busy helping out with that and talking to people like crazy! It was fun! Elder Slaugh and I got to meet some new people from out of state, asked them about why they where riding, saw some members and found less active members haha awesome!

We started in Friday and we drove out to Canton ME and helped out preparing food and talking to some people. It was way hectic! So many people all at once, it was fun!

Saturday we did the same thing in Embden ME and there, the collage students in Farmington where in on it and.. they where hitting on us pretty hard.. I felt way awkward, idk how I'm ever going to get married, I'm just a awkward fool around girls now haha

We had a pretty good stop by with David, he was with his brother and we where like "you coming to church?" - "yea I'll be there" AND HE CAME! It was pretty awesome! He loved it! He stayed for the first hour only, but it was still awesome he showed up!

We had a sweet visit with the Goforths, the spirit was so incredibly strong that Brother Goforth said "I'm forever going to church again and nothing is going to stop me" and he came with his family! Awesome!

Skowhegan is super busy! We mostly are just running around to place to place, we haven't found any new investigators this week, but we are determined to get some baptism dates this week! Love you all!

June 5th - June 12th

This was another busy week! We had more service at the deer farm!

We went over a little later, about 10 in the morning and when we arrived, Beth came and picked us up and we rode down in the gator.

When we got down there Norman was like "I said a little prayer just before you got here asking for some help" BOOYA! It was super awesome, we talked and worked hard! More getting dirty, so much fun! Then, afterwards, he took us for a ride in his '57 Belair and went to go get ice cream, and a tour of where Norman grew up, it was pretty awesome!

We also had more service at the Tweeties and we pulled out more weeds and stuff like that.

We had a super awesome surprise lesson with Patrick, he's a less active member, we caught him smoking and we had a great heart to heart with him. He expressed concerns about church and we taught him about having faith and working hard through our hardships.

There was a unexpected meeting that Elder Slaugh went to down in Manchester, so Elder O'Rourke and I chilled in Skowhegan cuz we had appointments.

We had one with a lady named Ida, she's sweet, old and loves to talk! She talked our ears right off, but that's okay because we taught a little of the restoration to her.

We also went finding, not to much but we where able to talk to a few people. We ran  into Kahn and Paul again on the street and said hi and tried to set something up for next week, so it's going good there.

I talked to about 6 dudes that rode motorcycles. It's great cuz they're like "you ride bikes?" - "Naa, my uncle had a fatboy back in the day" - "respect to your uncle brotha"

Pretty awesome stuff, once that's there, I just talk about their bikes, a lot of guys out here have one because it holds a special memory, like my guitars do for me, super cool to hear some stories.

We also had some awesome chances to speak Spanish! On exchanges, I was doing laundry and I heard our neighbors talking pretty loud and I leaned to listen and it was Spanish! So a few days later, elder Slaugh and I went over and played the old "do you have eggs?" Trick and got em!

Jaymi (Hi-Me) works out in Madison and his wife and kids are from Mexico! And he said he'd love to talk with us and help us learn Spanish! Also, we had a maid come in and she's also from Mexico! Super nice, she showed us pictures of her family and she asked questions about us and our family and we sat down and spoke Spanish for about an hour, it was awesome!

Some unexpected news.

So recently since the transition of the Nashua NH stake in our mission, Pres. Blair is continuing to close areas in the mission and unfortunately, Farmington elders have been closed and are now being transferred to Nashua.

So Elder Slaugh and I are Co-District leaders with a district full of hermanas. Oh boy. Pray for us.

The work continues and we still see miracles! Love ya all! Miss you!

May 29th - June 5th

This week was awesome! We got 6 new investigators in 2 days!
We had a busy Saturday with lots of service!

We got up and we where at the deer farm putting in posts and all that fancy stuff at 7am! Holy early..

We got talking with Adam and Devin, who are really good friends with the owners, Norman and Beth.

We put in posts and dodged baby deer and chased the herds with our 6x6 and then we had lunch.

When we started lunch, Norman said "Lets hear that Jesus message" so we taught the restoration with all of them there. He asked good questions but we only where able to get about halfway before they went out to work again. Which was awesome, so there's 4 new investigators right here.

Afterwards we went the Tweeties and did a bunch of yard work and then we went inside and had dinner with them.

Their friend, can't remember her name, came over to see sister Tweetie and we all where like "you should come to church!" And the best part. SHE CAME! Miracles. And she loved it.

We then went out to Madison area another day and we where walking trying to find a potential and we came across this group of old men smoking and drinking and they where like "Yo Jesus people, come on over here!" And we couldn't resist so we went and talked to them!

At first they just wanted to argue, but once the annoying ones left, we started to have some good conversations.

Once we started talking I heard some classic rock, some Journey, playing on their radio and I was like "I like the song man!" -  one guy said, "kid you don't know good music" - I said, "what? My dad raised me good man, I'm all about that Metallica, Bon Jovi, Ozzie, Slash, Guns and Roses, AC/DC man, I love it!" - then he said, "THERES HOPE FOR THE CHILDREN OF AMERICA!" Hahaha awesome! Got brownie points there! And we picked them up as new investigators! #6

We where walking down in Skowhegan and we saw a guy walking with a guitar and I ran after him and I said "hey brotha, you play?" - "yea man, I'm on my way to a show" - "how long you in town for?" - "all week my man" - "can I give ya a shout out next week and we can sit and jam a bit?" - "sure thing brotha, I'll be seein ya next week" ( talking guitars and music are great starters to gospel conversations)

Imma be a rockstar sooner then I know it 😂

We also had a bomb lesson with brother Frappier and Naomi. She's awesome and she said she wants me to play her a song on my guitar, pray for me 😂

I love it here, we have been having meals a bunch! The members love coming to visit and teach with us and I'm super excited for the rest of the transfer!

Love and miss ya all from Skowhegan Maine!
