yep, It's real!

a hot day for the Elders

mini golf with the district

everyone say cheese

mini gold is exhausting, need refreshment

July 18th - July 25th

Monday - We had a great time at the church with the district, we waited for everyone to show up, we played card games and then we played category's and it was awesome! Elder Lawrence got hammered with the pitcher of water haha awesome. Afterwords we went on exchange with Ascutney. The picture above are from last weeks district activity

Tuesday - Bright and early with Elder Lawrence. We went finding all day and despite some.. Speed bumps with him, it was a learning experience. No doubt haha we went into Fairlee and Orford and walked around to try and find some people. Elder Lawrence had to use the bathroom so, we went to a gas station where I met a nice girl named Sarah and her dad. They where awesome,  I invited them to learn, but they very politely said they are cool with where they are at and I gave them our number and offered service if they needed it. Once that was done, Elder Lawrence came out 30 min later. We then walked to find a potential named Nate, who wasn't home, so we went down Fairlee hwy and Elder Lawrence said that he was hungry. So, we walked further down to stop by this little sandwich stand. He looked, looked at me, saw I wasn't hungry then said "I'm good!!!" As loud as he can... So without hesitation we continued walking. We got about half a mile down and he said "That's a deli!!" Ran into it and was waiting in line for about 20 min for a sandwich.. While he was doing that, I was kinda upset and it clearly showed, so, another girl named Alana came and talked to me, she was nice and made me feel a bit happier. Hand of the lord, so we left and we walked back to the car where we headed for Bradford. When we got there, we parked at subway and I got some food while Elder Lawrence bolted into the bathroom. I talked with the girl named Kayleigh, who clearly was flirting.. Can't escape it, she was super interested in what I did at home and why I came on the mission which was nice. After I was done eating with her, about 45 min later, Elder Lawrence came out and got his food and Kayleigh's e mail address, funny thing was she said "this isn't for you, it's for elder Vogel on his return home." LOL I can't believe this haha maybe I need a transfer! Anyway, we started to walk down the street and try to see a few other people. Another potty break for Elder Lawrence and more walking and more me listening to a bunch of nonsense from him... Hahaha it's only 3 o'clock at this point. On our way back to the car and he runs into this old fogy place and uses the bathroom again for another 30 min.. He comes out and we come down to our car and we talk to a lady named Nancy who was a former and still interested. It was great, after that talk about Pokemon go, with the lady, we ended exchanges and Elder Timothy and I made it in time for a dinner with the Haehnels. AMAZING! Long day.

Wednesday Today we had district meeting and it went very well. We then went to the Haven and did service for the day and pretty much, that's it haha

Thursday - We went to brother Jaynes house and he lives in a way awesome, 60 acre strip of land. Very occupied and very busy, and beautiful! I love it!! After that we went to the Mohns and talked about exaltation because they needed to see their full potential, they are great and it was pretty much a call to repentance. That ended our day

Friday - We weekly planned pretty much the whole day, it's been a rough week and we needed to plan for upcoming events.

Saturday -Today is Elder Timothy's birthday! Here's what we did, we went and helped someone move from White River Junction to Woodland Vermont, they didn't have a lot so it was quick. After we where done, Bishop, Elder Liljenquist and I went back to give sister Andelin a blessing. She was Emergency transferred into South Royalton and is clearly looking very stressed, the blessing looked like it helped her a little bit. Hopefully she starts feeling better soon. Sister Andelin and Delgado are awesome sisters! Anyway, when we got back we went and got lunch with Lebanon elders and then we went to the Kings for a dimmer with Shannon, our now recent convert! It was nice! Loved it, then we went to the Mohns and where spoiled and gained about 10 lbs from the cake we ate.

Sunday -Sabbath was nice, I really like Sunday. We talked about agency and choices and how they effect us. Later, afterword we went and studied. We gained a flat tire this week, and we had to walk a lot. We went and taught Dakota, which was wild. She's a little energetic, afterwords we went to the Mohns again and taught Will the addiction recovery and discussed more about the 1st step. That was pretty much our day also

Crazy week! My goodness. Transfer calls are on Saturday! Wish us luck! It's gonna be a busy week!!

Shannon - baptism day!

they think they are cool.lol

their district

no words...

um....ok?!

Not sure if elder Timothy is gonna float in the font.

the zone

July 11th - July 18th  His first baptism!

Monday - we had a crazy good PDay! Loved it! The Lebanon Elders and sisters and us played mini golf! It was so much fun! We took pictures, unfortunatly I haven't gotten them yet, but they will hopefully be coming later tonight haha. Later, we went and saw the Mohns, we shared with them favorite scriptures and had a neat discussion! Later, we called it a night haha we also had exchanges with Lebanon.

Tuesday - Today I kicked it with Elder Hill. We went and saw the Brigham's, which was a riot haha they are so funny! Brother Brigham's eye surgery is working great and he is really excited to come back to church! After that we went to try and find more people, but couldn't unfortunately. We saw a less active who's a little coo coo, sister B. got baptized a millennia ago because she had a huge crush on the elders. And she's still single haha but she believes in God, reincarnation, hates organized religion and reads because we tell her to. Unfortunately elder Hill didn't say anything and I was thinking to myself "wth grandma" and we where really tired so it was a mess.  We both where like "dang.." So we left to try and find more people. Which failed. Always happens with exchanges. Oh well, tomorrow will be better!

Wednesday - We went to Plymouth for Zone Interviews! I love President Blair! He's got the Greenie fire going strong! Haha we talked about me, my mission and things I need help with. He's the funniest, but also very spiritual and inspired man. He's so awesome! I later talked with Sister Blair and for whatever reason, she asked my plans after the mission and we had a 30 min convo on marriage! Lol silly goose! She's also, very funny! After interviews we talked with the other missionaries for a while until we went to Laconia for exchanges. I was with Elder Hannig! Who's a boss! We went and tried to see a couple people and we where able to see a lady, who's name I can't remember, who offered her daughter to me to wife... Elder Hannig looked and me, I looked at him, then and her and said "I've still got a while on my mission..." I felt so awkward!! Usually I wouldn't be, comes to show how sheltered you become on the mission, never had a problem talking about anything but there, my knees where slamming on each other from the shaking and I felt like I was gonna melt because I didn't know what to say haha but that's okay, we taught them about temples, ironically, because her mom wants to go do sealings.. Just was a awkward and uncomfortable 45 min haha after, we went home to gather ourselves and I did language study until the other elders came home.

Thursday - Elder Hannig and I set out to find some people, I brought a pair of horrible shoes so I got wicked crazy blisters on my feet, but that's okay because I got to drive haha love it! Anyway, we talked to an investigator and she was like "you new here? Cuz you kinda cool" I felt awesome ;) anyway, we confirmed our appointment for next week and headed off. We then went to dump trash at the church, and talked to the yard worker for a few. Then we went to an island to talk to an older couple, who's granddaughter that just graduated, was hitting on me.. I've gained some weight over the past few areas, I can't even look at myself, why do they keep hitting on me!! I just feel so weird and so... Awkward haha after that we called it a night and elder Timothy and I headed home. While, the whole car ride, a potential was trying to hit on us.. Dang.. Craziness.

Friday - We pretty much went and cleaned the font for the baptism tomorrow and did weekly planning all day. It was a busy day planning tho.

Saturday - We went and saw Chris who had bad PTSD, feel so sorry for him. His house is the most grossest thing ever. Cat and dog hair, pee, poop, everything everywhere.. He let us inside, and we read the Book of Mormon. When I was breathing, I was literally choking on the ammonia. It was so bad, but in the middle of reading the Book of Mormon he yells "WIZARDS!!!!!" And he told us he was invisible, which he clearly wasn't haha but he freaked out and said "I got him" so we left, smelling so so bad. I had been given some "girl spray" here in the mission (body spray from bath and boy shop) and I soaked myself in that and it seemed to make me a little more presentable... Oh man... Later, we went to an "old fogy" party haha with some widowed ward members, they got KFC and we talked and had a load of fun! It was way awesome to talk to Grandma Chris! She's funny! Later, we went to fill the font and that's where the fun began.

When we got there we went straight to the font and turned on the hot water at 3:00pm. The hot water lasts for 1 min, then we had to wait for 5 min to get more. So while we struggled with that, we, at 5:00pm started to get nervous because the font was nowhere close to being filled. So, we went and got a hose and hooked it to the facet in the bathroom and ran it into the font with hot water, which only lasted about 15 min. The church was out of hot water on a 95 degree day. So while that was filling, after we canned it and left the Luke warm water go, we went to get the programs from the library that the Lebanon bishop put them in there. So we went and put the key in the lock and it snapped... The key broke in the lock...

Dang you Satan..

So we panicked..

5:50pm, fonts not filled, people aren't here, we are printing new programs at the speed of light, it's 105* in the relief society room, but, SHANNON GOT BAPTIZED!! Totally worth it!! It was so awesome! Come 6:20 when we started the baptism, the font was filled, decent temp, programs out and spirit present! After the amazing baptism we got in the car and drove home where, I found the bishop's church key.... In our apartment.. We got so mad we went to bed haha crazy day!

Sunday - we had a good day at church, definitely needed, Shannon got confirmed, all was awesome. We stayed for the Lebanon sacrament because Elder Liljenquist and sister Galbraith had talks and we wanted to watch. Worth it, later, we went and studied and headed to try and find some potentials. Instead we taught Dakota, she's awesome. Her little sister Christiana who's like 5 sprayed me with water. It felt so nice, but not needed on my shirt haha oh well, it dried up. We then went to the Haehnels for dinner and had a wonderful chat and a meal with them. I love them so much! They are proper, but loving and know how to have fun! It was much needed. Afterwords we went and taught Will Mohn the first step in the LDS Addiction Recovery Program. The spirit was so so strong! He was clearly humbled and he's got that desire to stop chewing! I feel like this program is a little extreme for him, but he needs it. Then after its all done, they all can be baptized! Needed that lesson also. We called it a night after.

What a crazy week! It's amazing what can happen to us as missionaries. This week was just getting better and better, Satan working so hard to not get Shannon baptized, get us in trouble and... Gosh it's intense. But it was a fun ride!!

Through all this I have been studying how to bare my testimony in Spanish, it's simple, and may be a little broken, but I'll share it with you all.

Short and simple. Working on new words and phrases, also with praying. Anyway, love you all and hope you all have an amazing week!

July 4th - July 11th

¡Hola mi familia y mis amigos! Espero que todos hayan tenido una gran semana!

Monday - the 4th of July!! What a day! We got up bright and early and headed over to the Lebanon elders apartment for breakfast and studies! Which, we didn't really study haha we also, went with the Hermanas to a park in Gratham to celebrate the 4th. The fire department was putting on a show for us and made us lunch with ventriloquists, a RC air show and a bunch of games!! It was awesome! After that, we headed to the zimnicks for a dinner, after we where already full.. Haha and we stopped by the Mohns. That was it for that day! Pretty crazy!

Tuesday - today was the day that we met the Blairs and the meet and greet in Plymouth! We got there at about 10am with all of the Concord stake missionaries. They are the funniest people I've ever met! Haha they both where throwing jokes at each other haha Elder Luu who is in Plymouth, asked President Blair how he felt when he was called to be a mission president and we get this 5 min random tangent about how he punished his baseball kids with ice, tennis balls thrown about 20 feet away haha then, after he asked what the question was again, he quickly said "I fell to my knees and balled like a baby!" Haha they are awesome! I can't wait for Interviews next week! I loved how they recognized the Stokers and saw how much they meant to us, but also shared how they are not them and how hard they are going to work to make this mission change for the better. I'm excited!! After the meet and greet we went to give a lesson with Shannon,  she's completely solid. We blitzed her with so much because her interview for baptism is on Thursday, but she was able to handle it! Awesome! After that we went to the Mohns and shared a couple things... To long haha but we went to Sharon's and talked about prophets and she totally got it! Awesome! Then we called it a day after the Ascutney Elders got here.

Wednesday - Elder Gassaway and I where on exchange together! We went to the northlands for the day. We stopped by the Brigham's,  they were not home... So on the drive to a couple other people's homes, who where not home, I took pictures because the mountains where awesome! We stopped by Kent and he was feeling under the weather so we had to reschedule... After we tried a potential, who shooed us away, we went and got subway. Re-looked over our plans,  and we headed for a couple potentials named Lily and Hannah. We couldn't find there house so we decided to go down this road, where, I literally had to Rally race the car to get it anywhere and... We got stuck.. But it was way fun! We where about 3 or 4 miles into the back trails, I got to slide around because it's all dirt, Elder Gassaway was having a blast. AWESOME!! After our rally stage, we tried to go to the bishops, but he's gone too so went to the Sonhalters and we shared about prayer and the spirit. As we where leaving, we got a call asking us to go back and have dinner. So we did and I got to talk to Matt and I got a T Shirt from Matt, it was way cool! They made us burgers with salad and potatoes and macaroni, awesome. We spent way to long and to tally up the day, the Sonhalters where the only ones we saw and 150 miles later.. Elder Timothy wasn't happy haha but we talked about it and I'm now working on planning better.

Thursday - we had Shannon's interview today! She passed with flying colors! Awesome!! Afterwords, we went with The Laconia Zone Leaders to Denny's and had a blast there. After, we tried seeing some less actives, but didn't work because we went to Grandma Baltch's instead. She had dinner, but changed it to a lunch because we had a dinner tonight already, we talked about church, her farm, and hid from the gross rain. It was fun! Afterwords we went to brother Zimmers and talked about repentance. It was very spiritual and Elder Timothy and I both had revelation of what brother Zimmer was doing. So we addressed it and we where able to help him feel loved and feel like he needs to do this. It was amazing. After, we went to Sharon's again. Awesome. Called it a day.

Friday - we weekly planned... Until Denny's with Lebanon! We also talked to Kim, she's our permanent waitress, she's awesome! Haha after that, we weekly planned more until we went to the Browns. We talked about the word of wisdom and Brother Brown committed to live it, while sister brown wouldn't. She's being stubborn... We are gonna bring it up again and help encourage her, we will see how it goes because she's holding her son Logan back from being baptized. Then we called it a night.

Saturday - we had a family history fair with the Lebanon Elders and sisters! It was so much fun! The Pettingills and the Allens (Office Staff) came and we talked and had a great time! After that, we went to Ascutney for a baptism interview with their investigators. We talked with them for a while and we talked to the husband and made jokes and got along great, so much fun! After we had lunch we came back home because Elder Timothy wast feeling good. Then we went to the Zimnicks again for dinner and Michaels birthday celebration. Called it a night after that.

Sunday - church was great! I felt the spirit and we taught gospel principles class and related Agency to how Heavenly Father didn't want us to leave his presence, but we had to in order to become like him, then we related it to leaving on missions and sister Nolton, had an Epiphany and clearly was talking about it the rest of the day. It was great! I'm glad she's so happy about that! We went to the Jaretts for dinner, where all 4, daughters where there with brother Rodrick. There oldest daughter Elizabeth, was playing footsies with me.. Which weirdly, was awkward.. THE MISSION IS CHANGING ME!!! I was shocked that it felt awkward haha but after I had to compose myself before I freaked out, we had a great dinner with great spiritual, thoughts and called it a night afterwords.

District P-Day fun

District bro hug

Elder Timothy and his baby doll!? lol

With the Lebanon Elder

she got him to wear a crown

Elder timothy did too

June 27th - July 4th

First of all, to all those who didn't receive my new address, it's 93 Gillette street wilder Vermont 05088 p.o box 461 and the new mission office is 105 Windsong Avenue Manchester, new Hampshire 03104 been lots of changes! And only more to come!

Monday - Today was a wild day! We had a picnic play day at a park in Orford! We where there all day playing games! Awesome! Afterwords we went to the church to Email and then the wifi didn't work so the Ascutney Elders came over the last couple hours and we hung out and e mailed together at home. Later, we went to the Browns. When we got there, they had cancelled on us. So we tried to do a couple other finding activities and they all failed. Not a good start to the week!

Tuesday - Well before I share what we did today, I want to share that later tonight, the Blairs get here!! How exciting!! Tomorrow, Elder Rasband with set them apart (a blessing he gives them)as our new mission presidents and the Stokers will go home :( it will be good, they are called of God and they will bring positive vibes to the mission, I'm excited to get to know them the next year and a half! Anywho, we had a great lesson with Shannon about the gospel of Jesus Christ, it was awesome! She completely felt the spirit. She shared a story of her prayer last night and the comfort of the spirit and the love she felt, brought us all into some tears. Amazing! We went and pranked the Lebanon Elders haha we turned off the power, flipped some chairs, ate some food and put a couch on their desk. Funny stuff!! Later, we had a lesson with Chris, read out of the Book of Mormon and headed home for lunch. Afterwords we walked to the Mohns which took a long time. After we got there we shared a message in forgiveness which was awesome, we really felt the spirit teach all of us. Afterwords we went home and had dinner and called it a night. The Lebanon Elders called and asked if we knew anything, so we harassed them in the phone for a while and had a great laugh. Love them!

Wednesday - President Blair is now in charge of the New Hampshire Manchester mission. We get to meet him next week!! Can't wait! It feels strange.. But Elder Rasband told us that no matter what happens, we have room to love 2 sets of mission presidents, I sustain them and I'll be the best missionary I can for them and the Lord! Now on with our day, we had district meeting talking about companion unity, then we served at the haven which is a food pantry deal, then we came home and had a few things to eat before we went and saw people. We first went and saw Jon Zimmer, who we are working with to go to the temple. He's cool, kinda odd and quiet, but had some cool stories. After that, because it was so late, we went home and had dinner and called it a night. We aren't feeling to good, allergies are hitting us like a truck.

Thursday - So today we went and did service at the museum again, and I died without my allergy stuff. So after that we taught Shannon and it was amazing! She totally lives the word of wisdom!( the word of wisdom is a health code set up by the Lord for us to live by. It was given to Joseph Smith and is in the Doctrine and Covenants, [a book of scripture]) It was fabulous. After we had lunch then went to have dinner at 99 with brother Sunhalter, we sat and talked for a while! He's a awesome guy! Later we had a lesson with the Browns and it went great! I loved them! Anyway, not much else happened

Friday - Today was mostly planning. We went to Denny's with the Lebanon elders because it's Denny Friday, loved it! Always nice to unwind and have some laughs. Then we came home and pretty much planned until we had to go to Dartmouth hospital and give a blessing. Dartmouth is still distracting as always (so many girls)haha but I'm working through it!

Saturday - Today was not a good day. We studied then Elder Timothy had to do a baptism interview in Ascutney, after that we went to Burger King and I felt like crap :( I don't usually eat out at places like that, but I felt horrible, so we went home. My allergies are getting absolutely insane and now I think I have a cold. Tomorrow is fast Sunday so we will see how it goes!! Praying for strength!! Summer's always hard for me, only a few more months until winter again!! Stoked! I want a winter that will scare me because last years was pathetic, anywho, that's a wrap for the day.

Sunday - Today we had a good Sabbath. It was patriotic, people made fun of me for being from Seattle #Seahawks haha so much political talk, drove me nuts. Anyway, I fasted for a lot of things, lots. My prayer to start my fast was about 30 min long in Spanish and English, amazing. I can definitely feel my fast being answered. I love second hour, talking about the characteristics of Christ, then 3rd hour talking about sacrifices. When we came home we studied for a while then we went to the Jaretts, where we had waffles and eggs and played with their kids. It was awesome! This little daughter Amelia got me to ware a tiara haha and I took pics mom. Anywho, we then came to give the sacrament to a member from the Rutland branch because she is in the Dartmouth Hospital for her body not releasing fluids. So, craziness.

This week was tough. Elder Timothy let me send the numbers to the zone leaders and we didn't do to well. So this week were gonna power it out! We have a baptism in a week, we need to get more flowing so pray for us! Love you all! Thank you for keeping me posted on what's going on!

My fav scripture this week is 1 Nephi 3:7 "7 Y sucedió que yo, Nefi, dije a mi padre: Iré y haré lo que el Señor ha mandado, porque sé que él nunca da mandamientos a los hijos de los hombres sin prepararles una vía para que cumplan lo que les ha mandado."

For those that don't speak the celestial language haha here's English

"7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."

I know that through anyone's hard struggles in life, it's because the Savior loves us. It's a lot like how a parent lets there kid sometimes go through a hard moment, to help them learn and to grow. I know that the trials we are given, there is always a way through. So don't give up, keep going. Because you have to many people in your corner cheering you on!

Have a fabulous week!! And a awesome 'Merica day! I know I will!!
